A new overlay journal in mechanics (CMAT)
A new kind of publication is about to be launched by researchers in mechanics, a new project the Centre des Matériaux, and especially Vladislav Yastrebov, is involved into. Committed to the principles of Fair Open Access, this overlay journal, the Journal of Theoretical, Computational and Applied Mechanics (JTCAM), aims to promote a new model in scholarly publishing.
As an overlay journal (« épi-revue »), each issue of the publication will be made up of preprints of submitted papers and accepted papers available on open access repositories such as HAL, ArXiv, engrXiv in the fields of solid mechanics, mechanics of materials and structures. The journal is already hosted on the Episciences platform and will be free of charge for both authors and readers.
A Creative Common licence will be applied to papers provided no restriction is required by funded agencies and DOIs, persistent interoperable identifiers, will be given to each paper by INRIA.
The journal is currently looking for candidates interested in the position of Handling Editors/Associate Editors to work on the journal review process. The call is available here : https://jtcam.episciences.org/public/jtcam_call_associate_editors.pdf. Applications can be submitted up to May 15th. The first contributions should be made available online by the end of June.
